Every pet has a story.
Whether they’re wonderfully mischievous, gloriously sleepy, permanently covered in mud, or convinced they’re royalty, my goal is to capture the little personality traits that make them uniquely yours.
Each portrait is lovingly hand-drawn using professional-grade coloured pencils. No digital shortcuts, no AI filters — just many hours of careful layering, blending, and, quite often, chatting to your pet through the reference photo.
(Yes, I know they can’t hear me. It still helps.)
What I Draw
All things furry and fun – dogs and cats, I mean. But I’m open to any other furry or feathered family member.
Choosing the Right Photo
A great portrait starts with a great reference photo.
The clearer and sharper the photograph, the better I can capture your pet’s expression, colouring, and personality.
Natural lighting is always preferred, and I love photos where the eyes are bright, expressive, and in focus.
If you’re unsure whether your photo is suitable, simply send it over. I’ll happily let you know if it will work or if another photo would produce a better result.
Portrait Options
Portraits are available in several sizes and can feature:
- One pet
- Two pets
- Multiple pets (depending on composition)
Backgrounds are usually kept simple to keep the focus on your pet, although more detailed backgrounds can certainly be discussed.
The Commission Process
Step 1 – Say Hello
Send me your favourite photos along with the size you’re interested in.
Step 2 – Let’s Chat
We’ll discuss your ideas, choose the best reference image, and confirm the details.
Step 3 – Time to Draw
This is where the magic (and many coloured pencils) happens. I’ll occasionally share progress updates so you can watch your portrait come to life.
Step 4 – Final Approval
Once the portrait is complete, I’ll send you photographs for approval before preparing it for collection or shipping.
Turnaround Time
Each portrait is drawn entirely by hand, so good things really do take time.
Completion times vary depending on portrait size and my current commission schedule, but I’ll always provide an estimated completion date before we begin.
Ready to Commission a Portrait?
I’d be honoured to create a keepsake that celebrates your beloved companion.
Whether your pet is still happily stealing socks or is forever remembered in your heart, every portrait is created with the same care, attention, and love.
