Singapore
One of the perks of living on this tiny little dot of a country is that I can usually hand-deliver your finished portrait personally. It’s always a pleasure knowing that your pet has safely arrived at its new home!
If you’re more of an introvert than I am (or if our schedules simply don’t cooperate), I’m more than happy to send your portrait via SingPost in a sturdy mailing tube. The postage cost will simply be included in the final invoice.
International Order
For commissions outside Singapore, your portrait will also be carefully packaged in a protective mailing tube and shipped via SingPost.
I’ll let you know the estimated delivery timeframe once your portrait is on its way. While I’ll do everything I can to ensure it’s packed securely and dispatched promptly, I unfortunately can’t be held responsible for delays caused by postal or customs services.
Framing
Over the years, I’ve discovered that most clients enjoy choosing their own frames to match their homes and personal style.
However, if you’d prefer to receive your portrait ready to display, I’d be delighted to arrange the framing for you.
For standard sizes, I often turn to the ever-reliable IKEA (their frames are surprisingly lovely!). If you’re after something a little more special, I also work with trusted framers who create beautiful custom-made frames.
Whichever option you choose, the cost of the frame will simply be added to your final invoice.
Payment Terms & Methods
Here in Singapore, every local will probably tell you the easiest way to pay is via PayLah! or PayNow. I couldn’t agree more.
For my overseas clients, I happily accept payment via PayPal.
Securing Your Commission
Once we’ve agreed on your reference photo, paper size, and all the fun creative details, I’ll provide an estimated quotation.
To secure your booking, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required. This simply means I’ll reserve time in my commission schedule, gather my pencils, and happily lock myself away in the workroom to begin bringing your pet to life.
Halfway Through
When your portrait reaches approximately the halfway stage, a second payment of 25% of the estimated total will be due.
I’ll usually send you a progress update around this point so you can see how everything is coming together.
Final Payment
Once your portrait is complete, I’ll calculate the final amount, taking into account any agreed additions such as framing or shipping.
The remaining balance will then be due before your portrait is delivered or shipped.
If Plans Change…
Life happens, and sometimes circumstances change.
If, after viewing the halfway progress, you decide not to continue with the commission, we’ll simply cancel the project. The payments already made (the two 25% instalments) are non-refundable, as they cover the time and work already invested, but you won’t be charged the remaining balance.
Likewise, if the portrait is completed and you genuinely feel it isn’t what you had hoped for, we’ll also cancel the commission. The artwork will remain with me, it won’t be shipped, and you won’t be required to pay the outstanding balance.
No awkward conversations. No hard feelings. My goal is for every commissioned portrait to be something we’re both genuinely proud of.
The Fine Print (But Nothing Scary!)
Every portrait is an original, hand-drawn artwork, and as the artist, I retain the copyright to all artwork that I create.
I may share completed portraits on my website, social media, or other promotional platforms as examples of my work. However, if you’d prefer your commissioned portrait to remain private, simply let me know before I begin. I’ll be more than happy to respect your wishes.
What I won’t do is reproduce your commissioned portrait as prints, sell it as merchandise, or license it to any third party. Your pet’s portrait is created especially for you, and it will remain just that—a one-of-a-kind original.
By commissioning a portrait, you are purchasing the original artwork, while I retain the copyright and the right to display the artwork for portfolio purposes unless otherwise agreed.
